GAME FLOW
The Lancers fell victim to a hot start by the Rams, who scored twice by the 6:45 mark of the first putting the Lancers into an early two goal hole. The Rams pressured Windsor early and often getting a ton of pucks on Jenkins. Despite the pressure, Spagnol cut the deficit in half, beating Seeley on a powerplay and making it 2-1 late in the first. Not even two minutes later though, Ryerson's Erika Crouse beat Jenkins again for a 3-1 Ryerson lead at intermission.
Â
The second period was far more competitive, with the Lancers almost matching the Rams in shots. Just past the halfway mark of the second, the offence paid off as Gribbon beat Sealey making it 3-2. It didn't stay that way for long when just 48 seconds later Mariah Hinds beat Jenkins, restoring the two goal lead. Crouse tacked one more later for a 5-1 lead at the second intermission.
Â
In the third the Lancer again almost matched the Rams in shots but couldn't seem to find a way past Rachel Seeley. Ryerson scored an empty netter late, making for a 6-2 final on the night.
