The Lancer men's soccer team defeated the host Laurier Golden Hawks 3-1 on Sunday in Waterloo.

With the win against the Golden Hawks, the Lancers now hold a record 2-4-2 in the OUA west division.

Windsor made a total of 11 shots on goal and
Kaneen Fells made 4 big saves for the blue and gold.

GAME FLOW:
The Windsor Lancers showed up to take the lead against the Golden Hawks after drawing a tie on Friday.
Paul Di Meo scored his first goal of the season and gave the Lancers an early advantage within six minutes of the start of the whistle. With excitement, the blue and gold exploded early to gain possession of the ball and take numerous shots on goal.

Heading into the second half of the game, both teams continued to push the pace and play with aggression. In the 58th minute, Matt Menko from Laurier was able to get past Windsor keeper Fells with a penalty shot but the Windsor offense was not ready to give up and built up the momentum to gain back the lead. They answered back with two more quick goals by
Otis Vacratsis and
Dylan Satto and secured the win with a final score of 3-1.

The Lancers play against the Western Mustangs on the Mustang Field on Wednesday, October 27th at 7:15 pm. They return to Alumni Field on Sunday, October 31st to close out the regular season against the Mustangs at 4:15pm.Â
