GAME FLOW
The Gryphons took their first lead six minutes into the game with a shot by Ted McGeen while on the power play. The Lancers did not back down and continued to pressure the Gryphons, responding with Olson's first of the night that found its way to the back of the net and sending the game into the break tied at one.
The pressure put on by both teams kept things exciting in the second period. Guelph struck first with a goal from Connor Bramwell on the power play. However, the lead didn't last long as Assad evened things up just three minutes later. The back and forth continued as Bramwell and Olson each netted their second goals of the game before the period was out to keep the game in a 3-3 deadlock heading into the final period.
The third period had both teams eager for the win after the back and forth of the middle frame. Guelph managed to get two past Lund-Cornish and hold a two goal lead with just over three minutes remaining. Olson's efficiency at hitting the back of the net throughout the game continued and he closed the gap to one with 59 seconds to go. Although the Lancers did not back down, the game ended the game with a final score of 5-4.
