For the second straight game, the Lancers dropped a hard-fought game to the Guelph Gryphons. The blue and gold fell 2-1 in overtime on Saturday afternoon.
 
STATS
Lancer captain Ashley Maitre played in her 100th game for the blue and gold. The fifth year defender has never missed a game in her OUA career. 
 
Holly Borrett made some incredible saves for the Lancers saving 28 of the 30 shots that came her way. Paige McArthur would be the Windsor's lone-goal scorer off an assist by Maggie Peterson.
 
GAME FLOW
The Lancers lone goal came early in the contest as they struck just ten seconds into the game. Borrett saved everything that came her way for the remainder of the period and the Lancers went into the first intermission up 1-0.
 
Windsor played more defensive hockey in the second period as the Gryphons were pushing hard and taking 10 shots on Borrett. Borrett, Maitre, and Devynn Dion served as a wall for the Lancers for the majority of the second period, however, a Windsor penalty would give the Gryphons an advantage, and an eventual goal in the 14th minute.
 
In the third, the Gryphons gave the Lancers some trouble but Borrett was a puzzle the hosts couldn't solve. The Lancers nearly got their second of the game off a Rorie Ringor shot that was just inches away from slipping into the net. Neither team could find the back of the net, sending the game into overtime for the second game in a row.
 
Similar to Friday's contest, it didn't take long into the extra frame to determine the winner. Just 36 seconds into the period, Guelph's Hannah Tait was able to find the back of the net to seal the victory for the home team.
