GAME FLOW
The opening ten minutes saw this game take place mainly in the neutral zone, with the Lancers applying periodic pressure with four shots in the opening five minutes. Maggi DeWolf-Russ and McArthur were giving the Golden Hawks some scares with the consistent pressure they were applying midway through the period. Fifteen minutes into the period, DeWolf-Russ passed the puck over to McArthur who would score her second of the season and give the Lancers a 1-0 lead. Swiatochik was a wall in the first period, saving all shots that came her way, helping the Lancers maintain their lead to end the first.

The Lancers continued to create opportunities as they continued to outshoot the Golden Hawks but were unable to find the back of the net in the first of the period. Swiatochik and Ashley Maitre would display an incredible defensive ability by blocking two golden opportunities for Laurier with eight minutes left to play in the second. Hogan would get the Lancers second goal, with an assist by Elizabeth Coleman with six and a half minutes left in the frame to put the blue and gold up by two heading into the third.

The final period started with the Lancers attempting to maintain their 2-0 lead and earn their first win of the year. Windsor played tough defensively and applied tremendous pressure on the attack throughout the period. Benjamin would seal the victory for the Lancers at 12:29 of the period.
