Following the Ontario Government's announcement that Windsor-Essex will be returning to the "Red- Control Status" of the new COVID framework, the St. Denis Centre will be reopening starting Monday February 22. The goal of Ontario's "Red-Control Status" is to implement broader-scale measures and restrictions, across multiple sectors, to control transmission.
The St. Denis Centre and Forge Fitness Centre will be available to University of Windsor students and faculty/staff only.
The facility entry is limited to 10 occupants per one hour reservation. Fitness equipment has been spread out between the Forge and the fieldhouse, where a temporary gym has been developed.
As of now, open recreation times and the wood courts will remain closed.
Building Hours:
Monday/Wednesday/Friday- 9am to 1pm and 3pm to 5:30pm
Tuesday/Thursday- 9am to 1pm and 3pm to 8:30pm
Saturday- 9am to 5:30pm
Occupants are asked to arrive 15 minutes prior to their session start time, wear a face mask and be sure to have your student/staff card with you.
All workouts must be reserved prior to attending the St Denis Centre.
Drop-In appointments will not be allowed. All patrons must complete the COVID screening tool on the Safe Lancer app prior to each appointment and show the facility staff upon admittance. University of Windsor identification is also required – UWin student card or UWin employee card

PRIOR TO ARRIVAL
Patrons must:
- be screened for symptoms prior to entry or use the Safe Lancer App
- have reservation confirmation barcode or email
- have University of Windsor identification
UPON ENTRANCE:
- use hand sanitizer prior to entry.
- be required to wear medical grade face masks at ALL times
- maintain social distancing recommendations of 3m
- follow the directional signage as building flow will be tightly managed to facilitate distancing
DRESS CODE:
- Stricter dress code for participants will also be enforced. All clothing must cover skin that may come in to contact with equipment.
- Bins will be available to carry personal items.
- Only APPROPRIATE gym shoes and attire will be allowed in the facility. All coats and boots must be left at specified location in St Denis lobby.
LOCKER ROOMS:
- Showers and changing area will be inaccessible.
- Self-filling water fountains will be available. Patrons must bring their own water bottle.
- Lobby washrooms will be open with a maximum capacity of 2 patrons
EXERCISE EQUIPMENT GUIDELINES & OTHER INFORMATION
- No exercising that requires spotting.
- Some machines/equipment may be blocked from usage to promote increased exercise distancing; i.e. 10 feet or more.
- Super-setting and giant sets are prohibited.
- Group Fitness and instructional classes will continue virtually only.
- Equipment (bands, skipping ropes) will not be available for check-out.
- Participants are not permitted to bring in personal exercise items.
- Participants will be required to clean their own equipment before and after use. Failure to follow St Denis policies may lead to suspension.
FACILITY CLEANING
- There will be a 30 minute window between each group of participants allowed in the facility.
- During this time, staff will clean high-touch areas and wipe down used equipment.
- Participants will be required to clean their own equipment before and after use.
- Single-use wipe stations and bins will be placed throughout facility.
- There will be also be deeper cleaning by housekeeping staff at the mid-point and end of day.
Please stay home if you are experiencing any signs and symptoms of COVID. We ask that you do not enter the building if you are feeling sick.
