Strong fourth quarter lifts Mustangs over the Lancers

In their final road game of the 2022 regular season, the Lancer football team dropped a 50-18 decision to the No. 1 Western Mustangs in London on Saturday.
 
With the loss, the Lancers move to 3-4 heading into their final game of the regular season.
 
STATS
Quarterback Danny Skelton went 10-for-17 and 119 yards. On the ground, Joey Zorn led the team with 66 yards on 11 carriers and Christopher John has the teams only touchdown running 53 yards on nine carries. In the air Justin Amoah had 55 yards on three receptions, while defensively Liam Hoskins led the Lancers with 8 total tackles.
 
GAME FLOW
The hosts started off on the right foot, taking an 18-3 lead heading into the second quarter. A 26-yard field goal from Brady Lister put the Lancers on the board at 8:14.
 
After the Mustangs conceded a safety to the Lancers for the only score of the second quarter, the blue and gold scored 13 points in the third quarter to make it a six point game heading into the fourth.
 
Lidster added two thirty-plus yard field goals, and John hopped two yards into the end zone with no time at the end of the quarter to make the score 25-18 Western heading into the final 15 minutes.
 
The Mustang offence came to life in the final quarter, scoring 25 unanswered points to take the win 50-18.
