GAME FLOW
The Golden Hawks got on the board quickly as they found the back of the net just two minutes into the game. However, the Lancers did not let the lead last for long as Olsen responded to tie the game at one. Laurier put another one on the board before the break to take a 2-1 leading heading into the second period.
Â
In the second period, the physicality started to increase between the two teams. Laurier's Justyn Gurney attempted two back-to-back offensive moves to try to score on Torchia but he put in a good effort to keep the puck outside of the Lancer zone. The Golden Hawks extended their lead on the power play with a good one-timer by defenseman, Conor Ali for his first OUA goal to make the score 3-1.Â
Â
The third period continued with a similar pace for Laurier as Windsor struggled to keep up. Unfortunately, even with the opportunities Windsor have, the Golden Hawks put up two more goals in the frame to win 5-1.
