GAME FLOW
The first period saw both the Lancers and the Golden Hawks have their fair chance of opportunities with Swiatoschik making some solid saves to keep the score deadlocked at zero after the first period of play.
No one would find the back of the net until ten minutes into the second period when McArthur found the back of the net with a stunning goal within seconds of stepping onto the ice. Immediately after the goal, the Lancers went on the defensive during the penalty kill and showed off incredible skills while keeping the game level.
Devynn Dion and Hogan Rylee both had great opportunities to score, however, Laurier goaltender Cohen Myers made a pair of great saves to keep the score 1-0 heading into the final period.
Windsor came out flying in the third period with a one-on-one opportunity for
Jessica Gribbon. Myers made another solid save to keep the blue and gold off the scoreboard and continued to do so throughout the period. Windsor's two goals from DeWolf-Russ and DiNardo would come in the final minutes with two empty net goals as the Hawks pulled Myers to try and even the score.
