GAME FLOW
Off to a great start, the Lancers had the confidence to take the first lead into the game and carry it through to the end of the first quarter. Denys made a good offensive move to get a clean 3-pointer. Although there was lots of physicality going on between the two teams, the Thunderwolves did not seem to add much resistance on the defensive side when Windsor came to put the pressure on in their zone. The blue and gold led 19-5 after ten minutes.
Â
In the second quarter, the pressure of the Lancers continued with consistent offensive production by the squad.
Reine Ndome put in good work to add defensive pressure on Lakehead. Windsor would find any openings to get through contact and finish offensive plays with a basket. The Lancers continued their offensive run with a 43-28 lead at halftime.Â
Â
The third quarter is where the blue and gold really started to pull ahead and increase the Thunderwolves deficit. Along with Denys,
Noor Bazzi also made herself a clear problem for the hosts. Bazzi had already made four 3-pointers throughout the game and then made a play to take the ball all the way down the court and finish it off the glass. As things seemed to be going in the way of the blue and gold, they went into the last quarter with a 62-38 advantage, hoping to secure a win.Â
Â
Looking to come out on top, the Lancers put everything out on the court in the final quarter of the game. Windsor put on a strong performance to come out with a 69-50 victory.
