GAME FLOW
Similar to the Lancers and Golden Hawks previous meeting Saturday night, the game started with a scoreless first period. The Lancers would get a good number of chances, however, nothing hit the back of the net.
Â
After thirty minutes of play, the Lancers would finally break the game's deadlock as Stefano scored a beautiful goal that was assisted by Kohn and Pataki. The Lancers would keep applying pressure throughout the period, keeping the Golden Hawks on their toes and allowing them very limited opportunities.
Â
Torchia was the star of the show as he put on a clinic throughout the third period. The new Lancer would make some unbelievable saves that kept Windsor up by one. With just a minute left in the game, the Golden Hawks pulled goaltender Tyler Fassl in favour of the extra man and would get the equalizer on an un-savable shot.
Â
Laurier's Nick Giunta would go on to win the game in overtime for the visitors on a 2-on-1 opportunity.
