Lancer Baseball joins OUA

WINDSOR, ON – The University of Windsor Lancer baseball program is changing club leagues beginning in the fall of 2022.  For the first time, the Lancers will compete in the OUA Coaches League, a club league made up of teams from around the OUA.

"The OUA Coaches League has an incredible group of university baseball teams, that are very well coached," said head coach Frank Jeney. "The OUA league will give our Lancer student-athletes a great opportunity to play great baseball here in Canada."

The Lancers competed in the CIBA (Canadian Interuniversity Baseball Association) from 2010 to 2013, before joining the NCBA (National Club Baseball Association) in the fall of 2015 and playing in the NCBA until the spring of 2022.  The Lancers have competed in the OUA Championships since 2017.

The OUA Baseball Coaches League will feature 16 member institutions in 2022, made up of three divisions.  The Lancers will be in the west division with Western, Waterloo, Laurier and Guelph.  The east division includes Brock, McMaster, Toronto, York and Toronto Metro, and the north division includes Ottawa, Carleton, Laurentian, Queen's, McGill, and Concordia.

The Lancers will host the OUA Far West Regional Tournament from October 8-9, 2022 at the Libro Centre's Premiere Diamond in Amherstburg Ontario.

The Lancers 2022 schedule includes OUA conference games, and non-conference games against OCAA, NJCAA, and NCBA institutions.
