The Lancer women's soccer team earned a 0-0 draw against the visiting York Lions in the 2022 season opener at Alumni Stadium.
 
With the draw the Lancers are 0-0-1 on the season.
 
GAME FLOW
The first half saw the Lions control the ball for most of the play. Windsor's best chance of the half came in the first ten minutes of the match when Brooke MacLeod sent a right sided cross to the goalkeeper's glove for a deflection.
 
Then, with less than a minute left in the first half MacLeod again sent a shot from the left side right into the keeper's gloves.
 
The Lancers went into the second half with momentum on their side and took their turn controlling the ball for most of the half. However, York goaltender Patricia Vrysellas turned aside every shot that came her way.
 
Windsor goaltender Lauren Gellner was rock solid in net, turning aside 7 shots in the game.
