Lancer Football drops road game at Carleton

In their first long road trip of the season, the Lancer football team looked to continue their win streak on Saturday afternoon against the Carleton Ravens at TAAG Park.

Unfortunately for the blue and gold, they came up short falling 24-7 to the hosts and moving to 2-2 on the season.

STATS
Lancer quarterback Josh Shim went 6-20 for 47 yards while running back Joey Zorn rushed for 104 yards in the loss. On the defensive side, Dealius Danso made 6 solo tackles and had 2 sacks for 13 yards.

For the Ravens, quarterback Tanner DeJong went 16-26 for 202 yards and Matthew Morin rushes 72 yards. Alexandre Laberge-Chung held the ground for Carleton with 7 total tackles

The Lancers out-rushed Carleton 152 yards to 97, but the Ravens out-passed the Lancers 202 yards to 75.

GAME FLOW
The hosts opened the scoring following an interception on a Danny Skelton pass. The Ravens brought the ball to the 1-yard line, where Joshua Ferguson then ran it in to take a one score lead.

Windsor continued to struggle through the first fifteen minutes, conceding a safety, a rouge and another touchdown to go down 17-0 heading into the second quarter.

Zorn made multiple rushes throughout the first half, but the visitors were unable to capitalize on any of their opportunities. Windsor continued to trail by seventeen at the half.

Windsor collected themselves during the halftime break and came out strong as Liam Talbot rushed 22 yards off Carleton's punt by Vincent Plouffe. Shim made a nice pass to Callin Bethune to the outside as it took awhile until a Carleton defender could get to the ball and gain a few yards.

After Shim's pass was intercepted, the Ravens fumbled the ball, which was recovered by Danso wo returned it to the Carleton 36-yard line. The Lancers kicked a field goal, but a Carleton penalty on the play moved the ball up 15-yards and gave the blue and gold a first and ten. Windsor capitalized on the opportunity with Zorn's solo touchdown of the game.

The Ravens scored again on the very next drive with a 47-yard run into the end zone to secure their third win of the season.
