The Lancer women's basketball team rebounded back into the win column on Saturday afternoon with a convincing 76-58 victory over the host Ontario Tech Ridgebacks.
 
STATS
Maggie Denys led the way for the Lancer ladies going 6-11 from the field goal and making 3-5 three-point attempts and went 3-7 from the foul line.  Vanessa Budimunda also helped contribute offensively by going 5-9 on FG and 8-12 in FT for 18 points, and 9 rebounds.  While Mariame Dehkissia had a game high of 3 steals leading the charge defensively for the blue and gold in the visiting victory in Oshawa. 

GAME FLOW
Trailing after the first quarter by a score of 15-13, the blue and gold managed to come together and dominate the court through the remaining three quarters to earn the eventual road victory.
 
At halftime the Lancers improved the score to 35-30 in favour of the visitors thanks in large part to the team's revived spirits in the second quarter locking down solid defense and making crucial shots when critical to break open the slim lead. 
 
The third quarter saw Windsor grow by 26 points pushing their lead to 61-45 by the end of the quarter with continued aggressive strong play that allowed them to take full control of the gym and take the bite out of the Ridgebacks fight.  Budimunda, Dehkissia and Kali Grootenboer all went 2-2 to help provide the stable offence needed to increase the Lancer lead.
 
While in the end the Lancers proved their consistent play to be all too much down the stretch for the host Ridgebacks as Windsor wrapped up with victory and put a bow on it with a 76-58 final at the Campus Recreation and Wellness Centre.

Windsor will now head home and get set to travel back to the GTA next weekend when they will tip-off against the TMU Bold at the Mattamy Athletic Centre at 6:00pm on Friday, January 27, 2023. The game can be seen live at oua.tv
