The Lancer women's basketball team travelled back from London with a sweet treat in their pockets on Halloween night, triumphing 64-51 over the Western Mustangs in their season opener.

On the night, the Lancers shot 35.5% from the floor and outrebounded Western 39-31.
12 players logged time on the floor for the blue and gold, with three scoring double-digit scores.
Reine Ndome was a smooth operator in the paint by sinking 7 out of 8 free throws and leading the Lancer charge with 19 points. Guards
Julia Chiarot and
Isabella Anes were also key contributors, tallying 13 and 12 points, respectively.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The first half of the contest saw a strong offensive start for the blue and gold, going into halftime leading by 13 points. The Mustangs then became within striking distance, trailing by only two points at the end of the third. In the final frame the Lancers kicked it back into high gear on both ends of the floor to both shut down the Mustang offence and put up another 20 points before the final buzzer.
