The Lancer women's basketball team battled from behind to emerged victorious against the Lakehead Thunderwolves in a game on the road Saturday night (72-59).

Lancers shot 38.4% from the floor and 64.3% from the charity line. The blue and gold tallied up 32 points in the paint as well as 7 steals on the floor. Where 12 players saw time on the court,
Mariame Dehkissia led the way with 14 points, going an impressive 4-for-4 at the 3-point arc.

The Lakehead Thunderwolves were led by a trio of players hitting double-digit scores: Kirpa Brar, Ally Burke, and Kelly-Ann Coulombe with 18, 15, and 11 points respectively.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Lakehead Thunderwolves got off to a quick start, leaving the Lancers in an 11-point deficit at the end of the first quarter. The women then flipped the switch in the second as they battled from behind to close the gap and trail only by 2 at halftime, 34-36. The blue and gold continued their offensive momentum in the third, dominating the floor to not only take the lead but gain a 9-point advantage over Lakehead. Teams were point-for-point in the final frame, where the comeback effort from the blue and gold ultimately paid off to leave with a 72-59 victory.
