GAME FLOW
The blue and gold quickly made ground and built a decent lead before the Gryphons battled back to tie the game. Windsor led by one after the first quarter.
Â
The second quarter saw the Gryphons increase the intensity as the quick timeout gave them time to develop new strategies against the dominant Lancers.
Xavier Ochu would settle inside the arc for a bucket and keep the blue and gold within striking distance. Holding a three point lead, Ochu chucked the ball across the court to
Thomas Kennedy who finished the play with a dunk no Gryphon could stop. Gryphon guard Jaylen Mason proved to be a reliable option for Guelph hitting a triple outside the arc and down the other way,
Najee Brown-Henderson would make his way past defenders for a shot off the glass. Refusing to be stumped by the Gryphons hunt for consistency,
Lorenzo Barbieri shot a basket from the perimeter to give Windsor a 56-43 lead heading into the intermission.Â
Â
Windsor continued to dominate the floor in the third quarter before the Gryphons slowly cut the Lancer lead to 12 points in the fourth. The Gryphon comeback fell short, however, as the blue and gold continued to surprise their hosts and eventually reach the 100-point marker to solidify their control of the game.
