WINDSOR, ON – Head coach Frank Jeney and the University of Windsor Lancer baseball program have announced the four team captains for the 2023-24 OUA season. Joining the leadership team will be 3rd year first baseman Nick Zinyk (Tecumseh ON).  Returning as a captain will be 5th year Jacob Prsa (Tecumseh ON), 4th year Colin Jeun (Windsor ON), and 4th year Zach Mann (Kingsville ON).

"The fall of 2023 will be our 14th season, and is also the ten year anniversary of our 2013 Canadian Interuniversity Baseball Association (CIBA) National Championship," explained Jeney. "This group of Lancer Leaders has the opportunity to lead the Lancers back into a position to compete for an OUA Championship."
 
The Lancers finished the 2022 OUA season with a 7-15 record, and a quick exit from the OUA tournament going 0-3.  The Lancers have added 16 new Student-Athletes this off season, many of which are first year students. "With the young talent we have been able to recruit this off-season, our captains will need to play a pivotal role in development." Says Jeney.  "Not only on the diamond, but in the weightroom, the study lounge, and in the classroom."
 
The Lancers start the 2023 season on August 31st  at home at the Libro Field in Amherstburg ON, taking on non-conference rival Sheridan College.
