The Windsor Lancer men's basketball team came up short in back-to-back home games against the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks (87-79) and Queen's Gaels (87-74).

The blue and gold went 45.2% from the floor and 75% from the free throw line.Â
Yohann Sam led the Lancer charge, earning an impressive 30 points on the night.
Xavier Ochu also found success on the court with 13 points and 2 steals.

HOW IT HAPPENED FRIDAY
Teams both came out hungry for the ball on Friday night, each earning 26 points in the opening frame. Then, Windsor marked 3 over the Ridgebacks in the second, leading 49-46 at halftime.

The battle was not over yet as Ontario Tech fought back in the third, earning 22 over Windsor's 15 points. The last quarter had Windsor look to seize control of the game, but Ontario Tech handled their offense well and made it difficult for the blue and gold to regain their groove. Despite a valiant effort, the blue and gold did not bridge the third-quarter gap, making the final score 79-87.

SATURDAY STATS
On Saturday
Yohann Sam had another showstopping outing on the court, tallying 20 points, marking a weekend total of 50 points on Lancer territory.

Xavier Ochu was not far behind, earning 19 on the night and 32 on the weekend.
In all, the men went 61.9% from the free throw line and 39.4% from the field.

HOW IT HAPPENED SATURDAY
The night opened with teams going point-for-point, Windsor trailing by 2 after the first quarter. Then, an intense second quarter saw the tables turn and Windsor lead by a basket at halftime.
In the second half, blue and gold looked to keep the Gaels in reaching distance. Though the score was tied 6 times throughout the game, the men ultimately came up short, falling 74-87 to Queen's.

The men hit the road to St. Catharine's next Friday to battle it out against the Brock Badgers at 8:00pm. Then, the men return to Windsor on Sunday to play Guelph in Lancer territory at 4:00pm.
