The Lancer women's hockey team split the weekend at home against the Nipissing Lakers (2-0 L) and Carleton Ravens (4-1 W).
Â
HOW IT HAPPENED FRIDAY
Coming off a 4-1 win against Nipissing on the road, the blue and gold were set to face the Lakers again on home ice.
Â
However, Nipissing took charge of flipping the script. The Lakers capitalized on an early chance, scoring at 10:55 in the first period. Then, they sealed the deal by potting one less than two minutes into the second period. Despite a valiant Lancer effort, the blue and gold were not able to overcome the early game deficit.

Â
The second period was a similar scene as the Lancers found their way into the Ravens' nest to go up by 2.
Phoebe Gao scored, assisted by De-Wolf Russ and
Maggie Mitani.
Â
The blue and gold struck again with 12:48 left on the clock in the third period to make it a 3-goal lead. DeWolf-Russ got in on the action and was assisted by Cameron and
Sierra Moreau.
At 6:05, Carleton got a piece of the pie while on the powerplay, adding their first marker of the night.
Â
With 2:56 to go, the puck squeaked out of a Carleton offensive break where Cameron found Mitanti for an empty-netter, adding a fourth Lancer tally.
