The Brock Badgers emerged victorious over the Windsor Lancers men's soccer team in a doubleheader weekend series.

HOW IT HAPPENED FRIDAY
The Lancers and Badgers went toe-to-toe in the opening frame.
Â
First,
Spencer Krause hit the crossbar for the game's opening strike in the 4th minute. Then
Devin Hernandez had a solid chance saved by the Brock goalkeeper in the 9th minute.
It was the Badgers who opened the scoring however, putting one away off a corner kick in the 12th minute.

A tic-tac-toe play with
John Maida and
Noah Branco then connected with
Mason Bailey to get the blue and gold on the board in the 16th minute.

Energy was high as Brock broke the tie in the 31st minute, leaving the score at 2-1 at halftime.

The Badgers found themselves on a roll in the second half, scoring 4 goals in 15 minutes.
The Lancers tried to battle back with a series of late offensive efforts. In the 84th minute,
Robert Oates had a tenacious strike, keeping fans on the edge of their seats. Ultimately, the Lancers saw no score in the second half, ending the night with a 6-1 loss.

HOW IT HAPPENED SUNDAY
On Sunday, the men hit the road to St. Catharine's for a rematch. Teams again showed fans a close contest in the opening frame.

Brock managed to score with a penalty kick in the 20th minute.

Lancer
Kishon Cornwall had a solid chance with a header that went just shy of the goal in the 62nd minute.
Devin Hernandez also had a series of offensive attempts, but did not manage to find the back of the net.

Brock's early marker made the difference on the pitch, ending the game with 1-0 score for the Badgers.

UP NEXT
The blue and gold turn to face the Laurier Golden Hawks next weekend in a doubleheader.

First, the Lancers hit the road to Waterloo on Wednesday, October 9th at 8:15pm. Then, the men return home to Alumni Field for an afternoon outing on Saturday, October 12th at 3:15pm.
