The Windsor Lancer women's hockey team hosted a pair of Toronto area teams at the Capri Pizzeria Recreation Complex this past weekend.

On Friday the Lancers welcomed the TMU Bold to town where the Bold bested the blue and gold in a 4-3 shootout result.  Meanwhile on Saturday the Lancers were able to rebound and bounce back with a 4-2 victory over the York Lions.

On Friday Makayla Mailhot, Bridget Cameron, and Teagan Pare scored for Windsor while Devynn Dion also recorded two assists for the Lancers.  Meanwhile between the pipes Cadence Petitclerc made 43 saves in the shootout home loss to TMU.

On Saturday Cameron and Mailhot scored again while Rylee Hogan and Elissa Benjamin also found the back of the net for the Lancers in the win in Windsor.

In net, Rebecca Noble made 16 saves helping to earn the victory for the Lancers.

FRIDAY GAME FLOW
It did not take long to see the game's first goal as the Lancers lit the lamp 17 seconds into the contest with Mailhot's marker to make it 1-0 Windsor from Dion and Benjamin.

The Bold would eventually respond at the 12:27 mark when Britni Yammine scored for TMU to tie up the game at 1-1 which remained in effect going into the first intermission.

Cameron would then score at 4:14 of the second period to make it 2-1 Lancers from Keana McKibbin.

21 seconds later the Lancers would find themselves back on even ground when TMU's Emily Baxter scored to make it 2-2 at the 4:35 mark.

Eden Dusome would then score an unassisted goal for the Bold at 6:37 of the second period to earn TMU a 3-2 edge that stayed intact going into the second intermission.

The Lancers would find an equalizer at 10:44 of the third period when Pare's shot beat TMU netminder Alexia Stratos to make it 3-3 from Emily Eikelboom and Dion.

This would be the final goal score with 5-on-5 skaters on the ice before going on to an overtime that became meaningless and an eventual shootout showdown which ultimately resulted in the Bold claiming victory over the Lancers in Windsor.

SATURDAY GAME FLOW
The first period was scoreless as both Noble and York's goaltender Emma Wedgewood turned aside all shots faced in the period to keep the game at 0-0 after 20 minutes of play.

Hogan would open the scoring for Windsor from Madison Hollahan and Phoebe Gao at 3:01 into the second period to make it 1-0 Lancers.

The Lions would roar back with a response goal just over 30 seconds later when York captain Ava Ricker-Singh scored to make it 1-1 at 3:39 into the second period.

Mailhot would net her second goal of the weekend at 12:55 of the second to give Windsor a go-ahead goal from Benjamin and Eikelboom making it 2-1 which remained in effect through to the second intermission.

Nine seconds into the third period, Benjamin sniped in a shot past Wedgewood to give the Lancers a 3-1 lead.  Eikelboom picked up an assist on the Benjamin goal.

Later in the period on a Lancers power play Cameron would score her second goal on the weekend from Benjamin's pass at 6:38 to give Windsor a commanding 4-1 lead on the Lions.
