Lancer golf head coach
Adam Wagner has been named to Team Canada as a part of the coaching staff for the 2024 FISU World University Championships held in Kuortane-Seinäjoki, Finland from August 27 - 30.
This is the second time in three years that Coach Wagner has represented Canada at the event, previous leading the red and white in 2022. Joining him on the coaching staff is Kevin Corriveau from St. Clair College and Tara Savoie from the University of Waterloo.
"It is an honour and a privilege to have this opportunity to represent my Country, the University of Windsor and all of Windsor & Essex County in this international event," said Wagner. "I am thrilled to be able to support these student athletes as they compete in the FISU Games and to provide the best possible student experience."
On the men's side, Anthony Jomphe of Université de Montréal will join William Forgues of Université Laval and John Paul Kahlert of the University of British Columbia.
On the women's side, University of Guelph golfer Ela Jones will unite with Kristi Godkin of Wilfried Laurier University and Morgan Best of the University of the Fraser Valley to round out the Canadian contingent.
The competition will take place at Ruuhikoskigolf, rated as one of the best 100 golf courses in the Nordic Countries. Ruuhikoskigolf has organized many major competitions including the Finnish stroke-play Championship in 2019 and European Men's Senior Team Championship in 2006.
