The University of Windsor Lancers women's hockey team fell 5-3 to the Waterloo Warriors on Friday (Oct. 31) evening in Waterloo, Ont.

Waterloo opened the scoring in this Halloween matchup, with Sarah Hirst drawing first blood halfway into the opening frame.
Bridget Cameron knotted things up with a power play goal with two minutes to play in the period, sidestepping a Waterloo defender before snapping a shot over the blocker of the Warriors goaltender, her second of the season.
Cameron double dipped five minutes into the second period, rifling a top-shelf wrist shot from the blueline to give the Lancers their first lead of the game. Windsor extended their lead on an
Elissa Benjamin goal, as she found a rebound after a scramble in front of the Waterloo net and buried her third of the campaign. The 3-1 Lancer lead held for the rest of the period, with the Lancers holding a 19-14 shot advantage after forty minutes.
Waterloo stepped up their game in the third period, putting 13 shots on first-year Windsor goaltender
Ella Willoughby as they pressured to even the score. Tia Lascelle scored on the power play five minutes into the third period to cut the Windsor lead to just one.
The Warriors tied the game just 41 seconds later on a goal by Andrea Murray, and took the lead on a power play goal by Gracey Smith with just over eight minutes to play. Smith added an empty netter for insurance late in the game.
