The Windsor Lancers women's basketball team kept their momentum rolling, securing a hard-fought 77-73 win over the Guelph Gryphons Friday night. The victory marks their sixth straight win, building off back-to-back wins against Algoma last week.

Reine Ndome led the Lancer charge with 19 points, 3 assists, and 6 rebounds.
Vanessa Budimunda also had a standout performance with 12 points and 9 rebounds.
Leah Tate and Julia Chiarot were key offensive leaders, adding 22 and 16 points each, respectively.
The team shot 83.3% from the free throw line and 41.4% from the floor.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Gryphons came out strong, setting the pace with a 24-point opening quarter. Both teams traded baskets in the second, scoring 17 apiece, leaving the ball in Guelph's court as they held a 41-31 halftime lead.
However, the Lancers returned to the court with a winning mentality. In the third frame, the women locked in on both ends of the floor. The Lancers earned 25 points while keeping the Gryphons down to 10 in the quarter. The final frame saw teams enter more even footing, exchanging chances. With just over 2 minutes remaining, the women grabbed hold of their largest lead of the game, by 9 points, and held the Gryphons off to secure a 4-point win.

Next, the Lancers will split the weekend on the road and at home against the Western Mustangs. On Wednesday, February 5th the Lancers take the floor at the TLC at 6:00 pm. Then, on Saturday, February 8th teams will travel to London for tip off at 6:00 pm.
