The Lancer women's soccer team continued their 2025 campaign with a weekend home-and-home series against the Waterloo Warriors.
The blue and gold swept the Warriors with a pair of 1-0 victories, and moving to 2-1-1 on the season.
FRIDAY
In the opening game of the weekend at Aluni Stadium, the Lancers got off to a strong start on Friday night, dominating the attacking play and registering eight shots in the first half alone. Five of those came from
Avery Comartin, who found the back of the net in the 23rd minute with what would ultimately be the games only and game-winning goal.
The team followed up their aggressive first-half display with a composed and disciplined defensive effort. Waterloo managed just two shots in the second half, with one hitting the crossbar in the 57th minute, yet it wasn't enough to share the points as the Lancers went on to collect the three points going into Sunday afternoons game in Waterloo.
SUNDAY
The team carried their momentum from Friday night into Sunday's match, dominating the first half with 11 shots to Waterloo's two. Comartin, who scored the game-winner in Friday's victory, continued her strong form by netting another decisive goal in the 64th minute.
