The University of Windsor Lancers women's hockey team fell 8–1 to the Queen's Gaels on Saturday (Feb. 7) afternoon, in Kingston, Ont.

STATS
Bridget Cameron recorded the lone goal for the Lancers, while Paige Riley picked up the assist.

Queen's featured a balanced attack with goals from Sophie Hudson, Mikayla Cranney, Carys Collie, Sydney Rasmussen, Melissa Parton, and Sara Di Filippo. The Gaels converted twice on the power play, finishing 2-for-3.

GAME FLOW
Windsor got off to a strong start just over two minutes into the game when Bridget Cameron opened the scoring, finishing a play set up by Paige Riley to give the Lancers an early 1–0 lead. Queen's responded quickly, tying the game less than two minutes later before adding two more goals in the first period, including a power-play marker, to take a 3–1 advantage into the intermission.

The Gaels extended their lead in the second period with two more goals, one coming on the power play, as Windsor worked to limit chances and regain momentum. Despite stretches of solid defensive play, Queen's continued to capitalize on their opportunities.

Queen's added three more goals in the third period, including another power-play tally, to seal the outcome. The Lancers continued to compete through the final frame, but were unable to break through offensively.
