The University of Windsor Lancers men's hockey team has earned four major OUA awards and four all-star selections among six team members for the 2025-26 OUA regular season.
Kevin Hamlin has been named OUA West Division Coach of the Year after leading the Lancers to a first-place finish in the OUA West division with an 18-7-3 (W-L-OT) record. Under his guidance, the Lancers lead the OUA in goals scored (105) and had the second-fewest goal allowed in the division (67); their +38 goals differential was the best in the OUA. The blue and gold had the best home record in the division, as they went 11-1-2 at the Capri Pizzeria Recreation Complex. Hamlin coached the Lancers to a disciplined style of play, as their 303 penalty minutes were the fewest in the division and third-fewest in the entire league. This is Hamlin's third Coach of the Year award. He was previously recognized with this honour in 2014-15 and 2008-09.
Colton Smith tore up the OUA in his rookie season, scoring a league-leading 21 goals en route to being named the OUA West division Rookie of the Year and being named to the all-rookie team. He led rookies in scoring with 29 points, and he had five more goals than any other rookie in the league. The sniper was a massive offensive contributor this season, scoring seven game-winning goals and four on the power play. Smith was twice named an OUA Athlete of the Week this season. On the week of Jan. 26-Feb. 1, he scored five goals in two games, including his first career OUA hat trick. From Feb. 23-Mar. 1, he scored his first career playoff hat trick in game one of the quarterfinals against Guelph and added a fourth goal in game two. He is the first Lancer to win rookie of the year since Justice Dundas in 2015-16.
The only goalie in Canada to play all 28 games this season,
Max Donoso won all 18 games for the Lancers this season to earn the OUA West Division Goaltender of the Year and was also named to the first all-star team. His 18 wins tied for second in both the OUA and U SPORTS and his three shutouts were the most in the province. Donoso played 1646:28 minutes in the
crease, by far the most in the country, almost two entire games (120 minutes) more than the second-most. In this time, he put up a 2.22 goals against average (4th OUA/5th U SPORTS)
and a .920 save percentage (6th OUA/8th U SPORTS). He was named OUA Athlete of the Week on January 6 after stopping 72 of 74 shots in back-to-back wins against Brock, which moved the Lancers into first place in the division, giving them momentum down the stretch that would allow them to eventually clinch the division. He is the first Lancer to win this award since
Nathan Torchia in 2022-23.
