The University of Windsor Lancers men's hockey team continues their 2026 OUA Queen's Cup playoff run with a matchup against the TMU Bold for game one of the semifinal round. The Lancers and Bold face off on Thursday, Mar. 5 at 6:15 p.m. at the Mattamy Athletic Centre as the top two teams in the OUA West go head-to-head in this best-of-three series.
The 18-7-3 (W-L-OT) Lancers beat out the Bold for the top spot in the OUA West by one point to earn home ice advantage in this series. The Lancers swept the Guelph Gryphons in two games in the quarterfinals, winning game one 5-2 at home and taking game two 2-1 in overtime on a series-clinching goal by
Logan Linklater.
Despite playing in just two games this playoffs, Windsor already has the largest goal differential (+4) in the OUA West among playoff teams.
Colton Smith had a hat trick in game one and is tied with
Logan Linklater for the team scoring lead with four points.
Max Donoso had a .938 save percentage and won both games in the opening round.
Another top team in the OUA West, the TMU Bold went 19-9-0 in the regular season, also earning a first-round bye as the second-best team in the division. The Bold defeated the Brock Badgers in three games in the quarterfinals with game scores of 6-2, 2-3, and 2-1. Connor Bowie leads the team with five points in three games and Kai Edmonds has been stellar between the pipes, including a 30-save performance in the decisive game three.
The Bold are a strong offensive team, led by William Portokalis' 33 points in the regular season, tied for fourth in the league. Marko Djordjevic leads the team with 16 goals and defender Hunter Donohue had 20 assists. One of TMU's calling cards is their strength away from home, going 11-3-0 on the road in the regular season, the best road winning percentage in the OUA.
