The University of Windsor Lancers women's soccer team suffered a 4-2 defeat to the Laurier Golden Hawks on Sunday (Aug. 30) afternoon in Waterloo, Ont. in their first road game of the 2026 regular season.
GAME FLOW
After Laurier opened the scoring just nine minutes into the game,
Olivia Corazza responded with the first Windsor goal of the season just five minutes later to even the score, with
Michaela Marenchin drawing her first assist and point in the blue and gold.
The Golden Hawks would go on to add another goal three minutes later to retake their lead, but Corazza secured the brace before the close of the half with an unassisted goal in the 42
nd minute.
Despite generating multiple chances in the second half, including three corner kicks and four shots on goal, the Lancers were unable to break the tie. Laurier added two more goals in the final 45 minutes of play to come away with the win.

Olivia Corazza netted her first two goals of the season and first since the 2024 season. She led the Lancers with nine shots and five on goal.

Jane Pozzi each recorded two shots on target. Michael Marenchin earned her first assist of the season on Corazza's first goal.
Izzy Barrette made three saves while playing all 90 minutes.
Aaliyah Spence scored twice in the second half to secure the victory for Laurier. Annick Lariviere and Ashley Greco netted the Golden Hawks first half goals. Mya Brodrecht made 10 saves.
