Dave McGuffin

Dave, a graduate of both the University of Western Ontario and Laurentian University is the longest serving coach on our staff with his first season being back in 1990-1991 is an assistant coach working with the high jumpers.  Originally from Hamilton, Dave came to Windsor where he was an English teacher at Riverside High School.

Dave was a three time OUA High Jump Champion while he attended the University of Western Ontario and a Basketball MVP while at Laurentian.

Dave has been around for every single track and field Championship Banner be it the 21 National Championships or 40 Ontario Championships.  Individually he has coached 17 USport/CIS medalists including 4 gold medals.

Dave has also been inducted into the Western “W” Club Hall of Fame in 1990, the U.W.O. Cross Country/Track & Field Hall of Fame in 2004 and was the Gino Fracas Coaching Excellence Award recipient in 2000 as the Lancers Coach of the Year.  He also received the “A” award in 2010 Athletics Awards Banquet for distinguished longtime service.
