The Lancer Women's Soccer team saw their season come to an end on Wednesday afternoon as they were defeated 5-0 by the Brock Badgers in the first round of the OUA playoffs.
The Lancers started strongly, but were unable slow down Brock's Lisa D'Aquanno, who scored two goals in the the first twenty minutes to give Brock a 2-0 lead.
Lindsay McDonald would score with ten minutes left in the half to give Brock a commanding 3-0 lead heading into the break.
Just three minutes into the second half, Jordanna Phillips scored Brock's fourth goal of the game as she snuck one by Lancer goalkeeper Danielle St. Germaine. Cassandre Van Bakel netted the final goal of the game to secure the victory for the Badgers.
Despite the loss, the Lancer Women's Soccer team wrapped up a very successful season that saw them go 4-5-5 in regular season play. Throughout the season, they earned hard fought victories over McMaster and Brock and re-established the program as a force in the OUA West Division.
Today's game was the team's first playoff appearance since 2005.
