Box Score The Windsor Lancers Men's Basketball team was upset 73-64 by the Queen's Gaels on Friday night at the St. Denis Centre.
With the loss, the #6 ranked Lancers fall to 3-2 in conference play.
Friday night's game was also Coats for our Community Night as the Department of Athletics took in over 200 coat donations for local families in need this winter.
On the court, the visiting Gaels jumped out to an early 13-0 lead thanks to some hot outside shooting from point guard Baris Ondul and strong interior play from Mitch Leger.
The Lancers battled back to cut the lead to 17-8 at the quarter break.
The Gaels continued their strong offensive play for much of the second quarter before the Lancers got hot late and turned a 10-point deficit into a tie game at the half, 34-34.
In the second half, the Gaels used a 7-0 run in the third quarter to regain the momentum and hung on late for the 73-64 upset victory.
In the loss,
John Woldu finished with 13 points and 4 rebounds while
Andre Smyth added 10 points and 10 rebounds.
Matt Handsor finished with 9 points on 3 of 5 from long range.
Windsor shot only 33% on the night as they finished 23 of 69 from the field.
