University of Windsor Lancers men's basketball player Matt Aebersold has signed a professional contract with BBC Nyon of the Swiss Basketball League (SBL).

Aebersold, a Geneva, Switzerland native, played in 14 regular season games with the Lancers in 2025-26, averaging 17.1 minutes per game while starting in 10. He shot 38.9% from the field and 33.3% from three-point range to average 5.6 points per game. He grabbed 29 total rebounds and added 10 assists and five steals.

In his Windsor career, Aebersold played in 26 total regular season games from 2024-26. The Lancers made the playoffs in both of his two seasons, and he made his OUA playoff debut in the first round of the 2026 playoffs against Guelph.

BBC Nyon is based in Nyon, Switzerland. They play in the SBL, the highest level of professional men's basketball in Switzerland. Nyon has made the SBL playoffs in five consecutive seasons, and went 7-17 (W-L) last season before losing in the quarterfinals.
