The Lancer Men's Hockey team was defeated 3-2 by the Guelph Gryphons on Saturday night at Gryphon Centre Arena.

With the loss, the Lancers are now 9-11-4 in conference play and sit in seventh place in OUA West conference standings.

On Saturday, Windsor jumped on the board early with Brett Vandehogen's fourth tally of the season just two minutes into the game.

The Lancers held the 1-0 lead until late in the period when Kyle Tront accepted a pass from Christian Steingraber to net his eighth of the year to put Windsor up 2-0 heading into the second period.

The Gryphons scored a quick goal of their own on the power play to start the second period and bring the game within one.

Both teams were unable to find the back of the net for the remainder of the period as Windsor's Jim Watt and Guelph's Scott VanBommel made some great saves in net to keep the game tight.

In the third, the Gryphons scored back-to-back goals to pull ahead of the Lancers 3-2 and take the win.

Jim Watt made 33 saves in the loss.

The Lancers take to the ice this Wednesday night at 7:30pm against the Western Mustangs at Windsor Arena.
