Garrod leads Lancers to win over Waterloo; ties Laurier

The Lancer women's soccer team earned a 0-0 tie against the Laurier Golden Hawks and followed it up with a 3-1 win over the Waterloo Warriors.

The Lancers are now 4-1-4 on the season and sit in third place in the OUA West division, just one point out of second.

On Saturday against Laurier, the Lancers were outshot by the Golden Hawks 17-4, but Lancer netminder Rebecca Singer made nine saves to keep the game tied at zero.

Against the Warriors on Sunday, Candace Garrod had an outstanding day on the pitch for the Lancers scoring all three goals in the Lancers 3-1 win.

After a scoreless first half, Garrod opened the scoring just two minutes into second half to give Windsor a 1-0 lead. Waterloo retaliated five minutes later to tie the game, before Garrod struck twice more to give Windsor a 3-1 win.

Windsor will now travel to St. Catharine's on Saturday to take on the Brock Badgers, and then will head home on Sunday to face the Badgers again on Alumni Field. Both games are at 1:00pm.
