Women's Soccer tie and fall to Brock in weekend doubleheader

The Lancer women's soccer team came to a 0-0 draw against the Brock Badgers on Sunday afternoon on Alumni Field, just twenty-four hours after a 3-0 to the Badgers in St. Catharine's, Ontario.

With the tie, Windsor continues to keep a strong hold over the third place spot in the OUA West.

On Saturday, the Badgers were able to find a balance between offense and defense to shut out the Lancers.

The Badgers took a 1-0 lead in the first half before scoring two in the second to secure the win.

The following day, Windsor came out hard and put high pressure on Brock for the entire match, including six shots on net in the second half alone.

Brock goaltender Syreeta Rhoden was solid in net to keep Windsor off the board and the Badgers in the game.

The Lancers best scoring opportunity came 14 minutes into the second half as Marianne Wright sent a through ball into the 18-yard box. Both Tiffany Phillips and Mereasa Brownlie each got a foot on it, but were unable to get past Rhoden.

Lancer goaltender Rebecca Singer made three saves for the Lancers.

Windsor will travel to London on Wednesday to take on the Western Mustangs.
