Lancers earn second straight victory, defeat York 4-2 at Windsor Arena

Steve Ferry scored his first of the season in the 4-2 victory over York.
Box Score The Lancer Men's Hockey team earned their second victory of the weekend with a 4-2 win over the York Lions on Saturday night at Windsor Arena.

Windsor got on the board first in the opening frame when second year defenseman Steve Ferry burried his first of the season to go ahead 1-0.

After York tied it up later in the first, the Lancers re-gained the lead late in the second a one-timer from Jonathan Sciacca. Windsor had failed to convert on a number of power play opportunities in the second before Sciacca's goal to make it 2-1.

The Lions would again even the score halfway through the third period on an even strength goal to make it 2-2.

Windsor would have a answer late as defenseman Christian Steingraber scored first with five minutes remaining and then Brett Oliphant added an empty netter to make the final 4-2.

Jim Watt was solid in goal again for the Lancers as he made 23 saves and earned the victory.

The Lancers will be back in action at home next weekend when they host UQTR at Windsor Arena. Game time is set for 7:30pm on both Friday and Saturday night.
