The Lancer Men's Hockey team split a pair of road games with the Nipissing Lakers this weekend in North Bay, Ontario.

On Saturday, led by Matt McCready's two third period goals, the Lancers skated to a 5-1 victory in game one of the weekend series.

Brett Oliphant and Scott Todd scored for Windsor in the first two periods, to put Windsor up 2-0 heading into the final frame.

In a high scoring third period, Windsor added three straight goals from Brett Vandehogen and a pair from McCready to take a commanding 5-0 lead.

With just thirty seconds left in regulation, Nipissing's Andrew Marcoux spoiled Jim Watt's shutout bid to make the final score 5-1.

Watt made 40 saves in the game to earn the victory.

In game two on Sunday, Nipissing came out looking for revenge and found it as they defeated the Lancers 2-1.

After taking a one goal lead after the first period, the Lakers capitalized on a power play opportunity to take a 2-0 lead in the second period.

Windsor's Mike Lombardi scored his ninth goal of the year on the powerplay with twelve seconds left in the second period to bring Windsor within one and lift the momentum in their favour.

In the third, both goalies were outstanding and kept both teams off the board, giving the Lakers the hard fought 2-1 win.

Watt made 28 saves for Windsor, while Matt Hache had 35 for Nippissing.

Windsor will play their final game of the 2010 calendar year on Saturday at home when they host the UOIT Ridgebacks at 7:30pm at Windsor Arena.
