Lancers four game streak ends with loss to Golden Hawks

Box Score
The Lancer men's hockey team had a four game win streak snapped on Thursday night with a 2-0 loss to the Laurier Golden Hawks in Waterloo.

The Lancers are now 11-10-3 on the season and sit in 6th place in the OUA West division, heading into Saturday night's game against the Western Mustangs at Windsor Arena (7:30pm).

After a scoreless first period, Laurier's Thomas Middup found the back of the net in the second period to give Laurier a 1-0 lead.

The power play marker was the only special teams point of the night, as the Lancers went 0-for-4 and the Hawks went 1-for-3.

Benjamin Skinner would score with one minute remaining in the third to put Laurier up by two. Windsor pulled goalie Frank Dayus ten seconds later to try for two comeback goals, but were stopped by Hawk goaltender Ryan Daniels who made 25 saves on the night.

Dayus made 38 saves in net for Windsor.

The Lancers will now get set to face the Western Mustangs this Saturday night at Windsor Arena. When the two clubs met last Friday night at the Barn, the Lancers came out on top with a 5-4 shoot-out win over the nationally ranked Mustangs. Puck is set to drop at 7:30pm.
