No. 2 Lancers sweep weekend series against Thunderwolves

The No. 2 Windsor Lancers swept a paif of weekend games against the Lakehead Thunderwolves. 

With the win the Lancers are now 13-2 on the season and sit in second place in the OUA West. The Lancers are currently two points behind the first place Western Mustangs, but have a game hand.

Led by Bojana Kovacevic and Jessica Clemencon's 19 point performance, the Lancer women's basketball team defeated the Lakehead Thunderwolves 71-60 on Friday night in Thunder Bay.
The Lancers held a three point lead after the first quarter before the Thunderwolves rebounded in the second and overtook Windsor on the scoreboard to go up by three at the half.
 
Throughout the second half, Windsor put in an impressive performance to easily regain the lead and work their way to an eleven point win.
 
Clemencon had the Lancers' only double-double with 12 rebounds to add to her 19 points. First year Lancer Morgan Jean also had a strong game chipping in 12 points in the win.
 
In game two on Saturday night, Windsor dominated the Thunderwolves from the opening tip-off, cruising to a 67-31 win.

Clemencon had another strong game registering 19 points and 10 rebounds, while Kovacevic also had 13 points for Windsor.

All 12 Lancers on the bench saw action on the floor as Windsor built at 34-11 lead at the half.

Windsor continued to dominate the Thunderwolves on all sides of the ball in the third as they increaased their lead to 50-17 at the end of the third.

Lakehead rebounded in the fourth but was too far behind to make a run for it, as Windsor took the game 67-31.

The Lancers will now host Guelph on Wednesday night at 6:00pm at the St. Denis Centre.
