The Lancer Women's Soccer team closed out their regular season with a 3-2 road loss to the Guelph Gryphons on Saturday afternoon.
Despite the loss, the Lancers finished with the program's most successful record in program history at 7-4-3 record and a third place finish in their division.
Windsor will now host an OUA playoff game this coming Wednesday at Alumni Field. Opponent and time still to be determined.
The Gryphons opened the scoring with the lone goal in the first half, as Heather Kendall put a shot past Lancer goaltender
Rebecca Singer.
Guelph added to their lead with two more goals to open the second half with goals from Courtney Whiteside and Katie Carussi.
Windsor managed to get on the scoreboard in the 59th minute with a goal by
Kelly Riccardi.
Mereasa Brownlie brought the Lancers within one with two minutes remaining on the scoreboard. However, the Lancers were unable to tie up the game in the final minutes, falling 3-2.
