For the second straight year, the Lancer women's soccer team had their post season run cut short by the McMaster Marauders in the OUA quarter-finals.
On Sunday, Windsor fell to the Marauders 3-0 in Hamilton.
The game opened up with both teams getting good scoring opportunities. Then, in the 19th minute, after a scramble in the box, Marauder forward Natalie put the ball behind Lancer goaltender
Rebecca Singer from 15 yards out.
The rest of the half saw both goalies tested on either end of the field, and a strong McMaster defence kept the Lancers from tying the game up.
In the 72nd minute, a cross from McMaster's outside midfielder Hayley Marler would get into the middle of the box, be taken down by Brace who put it between the posts for her second goal of the game.
The Marauders would score on more time in the game in the 78th minute. From the outside corner of the 18-yard box, Hayley Marler shot a ball right over the Singer's head for the third goal of the game.
With the loss, the Lancers closed out their most successful season in program history. The Lancers finished with a 7-4-3 record and had five Lancers named OUA all-stars.
