Windsor draws a 1-1 tie against Waterloo

The Lancer women's soccer team battled to a 1-1 draw on Friday afternoon against Waterloo at Warrior Field.  Both goals came in the second half with Waterloo earning the equalizer in the 77th minute.

Windsor now sits with a 5-3-2 record on the season and remains in second place in the OUA West.

The first half was all Windsor with Warrior keeper Lesia Bandura having to stand on her head to keep the game locked at zero's.  The best chance for the Lancers came off the foot of Tiffany Phillips who had a point blank opportunity at the 40th minute but Bandura made an incredible diving save.

With the score tied at 0-0 in the second half, Windsor would open the scoring at the 63rd minute.  Alyshia Phillips was at the right place at the right time jumping on a loose ball following a goal mouth scramble firing the ball past Bandura to give the Lancers the all important first goal.

Waterloo would find the equalizer 14 minutes later as Kaitlyn Barnett would run down the left wing and make several moves before finally putting the ball past Windsor keeper Rebecca Singer

Windsor returns home for their final home game of the regular season with a rare Tuesday night game against the Western Mustangs at 6:30pm on Alumni Field.
