Box Score The Lancer men's hockey team closed out the front portion of their schedule with a 4-2 loss to the Waterloo Warriors on Saturday night in Waterloo.
With the loss, the Lancers head into the Christmas break with a 12-12 record, and are tied for seventh in the OUA west division with the UOIT Ridgebacks.
After a scoreless first period, the Lancers opened the scoring on a penalty shot. Waterloo was given a slashing penalty, and as a result the Lancers were awarded the penalty shot.
Evan Stibbard put the puck past Warrior goaltender Justin Leclerc to give Windsor a 1-0 lead at 1:11 of the period.
The Warriors tied the game a minute and a half later with their own powerplay goal at 2:48.
Midway through the frame,
Christian Steingraber scored his first of the season with an extra man to give the Lancers a one goal edge heading into the final period.
In the third, the Lancer defense struggled against the strong Warrior offence as Waterloo scored three unanswered goals in the period to claim the win.
Windsor will now break until January 7th when they host the Guelph Gryphons at Windsor Arena at 7:30pm.
