A Windsor Lancers' offence that's been way more miss than hit over a three-game losing streak in OUA men's basketball will try to get untracked with Thursday's weather-delayed contest against Guelph.
All Wednesday games in the OUA were postponed and rescheduled due to a wintry blast that made highway travel a little dicey.
The Gryphons and the Lancers simply pushed back their meeting a day at the St. Denis Centre with the women playing at 6 p.m., and the men going at 8 p.m.
The Lancer men are looking to snap a perplexing streak where as a team they've shot just 35, 36.6 and 32.8 per cent respectively.
Individually, fifth-year guard
Isaac Kuon has struggled to find the hoop, going one-of-14, six-of-25 and one-of-15 during that stretch.
“It's hard to believe,” Windsor coach
Chris Oliver said of the team's offensive woes.
“It will be nice to get some home games and get us back into a rhythm here.”
The No. 9 Lancers host Laurier Saturday at 1 p.m.
After dropping a pair of games in Thunder Bay last weekend, the Lancers are forced for the moment to share second with Laurier at 11-5 while Lakehead sits in first at 13-3.
Injuries have made wins hard to come by for the last-place Gryphons who are 6-10.
Tonight will mark Kevin Cameron's return to the St. Denis Centre after leaving the Lancers and transferring to Guelph following the 2008-09 season.
“I”m happy he's back on track with his career goals on and off the court,” Oliver said.
Cameron averages 5.8 points per game for Guelph over 17.9 minutes per game.
The women's game will be a homecoming for former UMEI star Melissa Wagner, now a rookie guard with Guelph.
Starting tonight, the Lancers play four games in the span of six days what with Saturday's tilt against Laurier, a rescheduled Sunday matinee with McMaster and next Wednesday's match with Waterloo.
“We're reducing the amount of time we spend in practice,” Windsor coach Chantal Vallee said of accommodating such a tight schedule.
“We see this as a great challenge. It's like nationals where you play three games in four days. One of our strengths is our depth so we're not too worried.”
