Lancer Soccer host Gryphons on men's soccer alumni weekend

The Lancer men's soccer team is set to do battle against the Guelph Gryphons this Saturday afternoon at their annual alumni weekend on Alumni Field.

Windsor (2-2-2) enters the game on a four game undefeated streak after a 2-0 shut-out of the UOIT Ridgebacks last Saturday in Oshawa.

The Lancers will look to first year forward Michael Pio to help keep their streak alive. The Windsor, Ont native is on fire with three goals in his last three games, to the team in scoring and sit in the top fifteen in the OUA.

Windsor's strong defense has averaged only 1.3 goals against, and will look to build on that this weekend against Guelph.

The Gryphons (3-3), who sit just above the Lancers in the OUA West standings, will be looking to break their two game winless streak following losses to McMaster and York.

In conjunction with the game, the Lancer soccer program will also host their annual men's soccer alumni weekend. Alumnus will participate in an alumni game prior to the kick-off of the women's game, and will then head to a reception in their honour following the men's game at 6:00pm.

The Lancers will host the Gryphons on Saturday and the York Lions on Sunday. Both games are slated for 3:15pm on Alumni Field.
