Lancers move into 4th place in OUA standings

The Lancer men's soccer team earned four of six points on a road trip to Waterloo over the weekend.

The four points moved the Lancers into fourth place in the OUA West division heading into the final weekend of regular season play.

On Saturday afternoon, the Lancers earned a 2-1 win over the Waterloo Warriors and followed that up with a 1-1 draw against the Laurier Golden Hawks on Sunday.

All of the scoring came in the first half with Chris Lanni's goal in the 27th minute standing as the winner.

Cristian Mayorga picked up the other Lancer goal in the 9th minute while Victor Jiminez tallied the lone Warrior marker at the 39th minute.

Dejo Olabegi made 6 saves in net for the Lancers to be credited with the win.

On Sunday against Laurier, the Lancers had a strong first half registering 8 shots on net in the first 45 minutes of play.

Mayorga scored his second of the weekend in the 29th minute to give Windsor a 1-0 lead at the half.

Windsor's defense held the Laurier attack at bay until very late in the game when the host team was able to sneak on into the net to draw the game into a tie.

The Lancers will host the McMaster Marauders and Brock Badgers in their final regular season games this coming weekend at home. Both games are at 3:15pm at Alumni Field.
