#10 Lancers shut out Paladins

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 The #10 Lancer men's hockey team continued their dominating performances with two shut out victories over the visiting RMC Paladins over the weekend. The Lancers dominated RMC 5-0 on Friday night and followed that up with a 3-0 win on Saturday. 

With the wins, the Lancers are riding a five game win streak and sit in first place in the OUA West division with an 8-2 record.
 
On Friday night, rookie Matt Beaudoin led the way for Windsor with two goals and an assist. The first year forward opened the scoring for the Lancers with his third goal of the season at 6:25 of the first period. His second goal game at 3:20 of the third.
 
RMC played a rough game and created a number of power play opportunities for the home team. Windsor was unable to take advantage of the chances until the third period when Tom Craig scored the Lancers fifth goal at 15:31 of the third period.
 
Brett Oliphant and Drew Palmer also added goals for the Lancers in the win, while Matt Murphy was solid in net making 25 saves.
 
In game two of the weekend double header, Windsor had multiple power play opportunities in the first period but were unable to find the back of the net, leaving the score tied at 0-0 heading into the second period.

Windsor special teams finally came through at 14:18 of the second, when Drew Palmer found the back of the net off a pass from Christian Steingraber and Steve Ferry

With both teams playing solid defensively, there were limitied scoring opportunities throughout the game.
 
Steve Ferry increased the Lancers lead to two at 11:38 of the third period, before Spencer Pommells scored an empty netter at 19:26 to secure the win.

Windsor had another solid performance in net. This time Parker Van Buskirk drew the shutout win making 26 saves.

Windsor will be back at home next weekend when they host the York Lions in a pair of games at Windsor Arena. The games are slated for 7:30pm on both Friday and Saturday night.
